Audio door phones are wired or wireless intercom systems that are configured to used to handle communication between a resident in a house and a guest outside. The device can also lock or unlock the main entrance it has been configured to work with. Audio Door phones have been used across a variety of  apartment commercial and residential areas.

Video door phone is an intercom system used to manage calls and images made at the entrance to a building  with access controlled  between the inside and outside. The main feature of video door entry is that it enables the person indoors to identify the visitor and, if (and only if) they wish, engage in conversation and/or open the door to allow access to the person calling. It can either be single unit or for a multi apartment systems.
